Due to lack of affordable housing, many people are experiencing homelessness all over the United States.

In an effort to combat this, U-Haul is upcycling old trucks as tiny homes for families to have a place to get back on their feet. Everyone who uses U-Haul is in a transitional phase, some people are just a bit more between homes.

U-Homes create a sustainable option for housing and provides a place for those between homes.

After years of wear and tear, U-Hauls are being retired to lots, but now they can be put to a greater use.

Over half of those experiencing homelessness still have access to internet via smart phones, so QR codes on murals and packaging boxes will allow those in need to sign up to receive a free U-Home.

Updated truck wraps help get the word out about U-Haul’s initiative.

Amidst the pandemic, remote work has allowed people to move outside the cities where they’re employed- sometimes even states away.

So we’re hitting LinkedIn with auto-replies and asking those who are now making big moves at work to join the cause. With every 1,000 mile U-Haul rental, you can help someone receive a U-Home.

With U-Haul, your next move could also be someone else’s.

Through a partnership with Ikea, Ikea will help furnish the u-homes to make the most out of the space we have.

In exchange U-Haul is donating a U-Home for Ikea’s showroom to assist in Ikea’s mission to create functional furnishings and inspire those interested in small-scale sustainable living.
